Abstract
290,742. Marks, E. C. R., (Dunham Co., Ltd., C. A.). Feb. 21, 1927. Aspirating - apparatus, jetpump; nozzles &c. - In a vacuum jet-pump for returning fluids from a heating system to a receiving tank, a number of nozzles 24, Fig. 4, project water, or other actuating liquid, through a vacuum chamber 7, the initial temperature of the actuating liquid being higher than its boiling point at the pressure prevailing in the chamber 7 and the stream being expanded to reduce its temperature below this point. The return fluids are entrained by the jets and carried through the delivery tubes 28 and the outlet 8 to the top of the receiving tank. The nozzles 24 and delivery tubes 28 are clamped in place between the respective end plates 17, 22 and 18, 26. If desired all the nozzles may project into a single delivery tube. Each nozzle 24 is formed with a restricted throat 34, Fig. 7. while the delivery tubes 28 have flared inlets and outlets 37. 39.
