Regenerating transformers.-In alternating - current transformers for voltage regulation in which two axially arranged primary windings induce opposing electromotive forces in a. relatively movable secondary winding connected in the controlled circuit, the primary windings d<1>, d<2> are located in recesses b in separate core elements e', e<2> surrounding the axially movable core a. The secondary winding is sub-divided into a number of sections c located in grooves o on the movable core a. The air-gap s may be filled with non-magnetic material.
