758,107. Transformers and inductors. BRENTFORD TRANSFORMERS, Ltd. Dec. 7, 1954 [Dec. 16, 1953], No. 35092/53. Class 38 (2). The winding of a transformer, voltage regulator or the like disposed in a cooling fluid is formed from a conductor having a tapered or wedge-shaped cross section, the longer dimension of the conductor being arranged radially and the shorter dimension lengthwise of the winding and the narrow end of the conductor being at the inside of the winding. The conductor may be bare or insulated. The turns may or may not be spaced from one another at the outer edges.
