Stays.-A stay-bar i is adapted to slide on a window bar e that is connected with the window fastening b, by means of which the window bar may be rotated to secure or release the stay-bar for the adjustment of the casement c. The bar e is mounted at its end f so as to be rotated through links connected with the window fastening, the bar having notches g and a connecting slot h. When the fastening is turned into its position to secure the window, the bar e is rotated so that a pin k on the collar j engages one of the notches. By moving the fastening into its release position, the bar e is moved so that the pin k is free to slide in the slot h, when the window may be moved about its hinges.
