Abstract
305,785. Hopkins, C. Y., and Cartland & Son, Ltd., J. Jan, 7, 1928. Sash and like fasteners, pivoted-ann type. - The pivoted arm D of a window fastener has its inner end g, g<1> acted on by the central portion of a floating cambered spring A to allow right or left-hand action, the arm end being of fishtail or like formation so as to be retained by the spring in the central or either extreme position. The spring is retained against endlong displacements by the inturned ends b, b<1> of the box members B or by projections &c. on the spring engaged in slots h, h' in the, box wall, Fig. 3. The catch member E is of straight formation as shown so that it may be used either way round for right- or left-hand operation of the lever D, and holes k may be provided to receive a pin (which may be secured against loss by a chain) to prevent forcing of the catch from outside.
