Doors and door frames. -For admitting air above the fire in a steam-boiler furnace plates g, h are so spaced from the door and door frame and so shaped that when the door is shut an air chamber closely bounded by the plates and the surrounding flue wall &c. is produced, into which air is supplied through the usual opening in the door, and from which it is delivered over the fire by tubes j formed with or secured to one or both plates. The lower tubes are shortened to minimize burning and the tubes near the handle end of the door are cut to clear the door frame when opening.
