Abstract

332,616. Stevens, J. H., and Hider, G. E. April 18, 1929. Batteries ; heating by indirect contact of waste gases.-The gases from one or more Lancashire boilers 1 are led into a waste-heat boiler 2 of the kind described in Specification 140,851 through a damper-controlled flue 6 extending from the flue 3 into which the furnaces of the boilers 1 discharge to the front of the boiler 2. The gases may be directed from the flue 3 to a chimney 11 by opening dampers 9 and closing the dampers 5a in the flue 6. Superheaters 17 at the rear of the boilers 1 and a separator 12 at the front of the boiler 2 open into n common steam supply pipe 19.
