Flues, external.-Settings of Lancashire and Cornish boilers are constructed so that the gases from the furnace tubes 2 pass to the front of the boiler through a single central flue 5, and are then divided into two streams to pass through superimposed flues 6, 10, 14 arranged on each side of the boiler. The flues 14 have damper-controlled outlets communicating with the chimney.
