Abstract

253,264. Spencer, Moulton, & Co., Ltd., G., and Glascodine, R. T. March 31, 1925. Pickers. - Pickers for underpick and overpick looms are cast, pressed, or stamped from aluminium, aluminium alloy, or other metal and have a screwed-on metal holder containing a renewable striking part of rubber or the like. The cast picker 1, Fig. 1, has a guide-lug 1<a> and a picker-stick slot 2, and is recessed at 5 to receive the screwed holder 4, in which is moulded the rubber striker 6. Holes and grooves in the recess 5 secure the rubber, which contains an axial hole 7. The rubber may be solid throughout with a convex face. In a modification, Fig. 11, the picker is formed in two stamped or pressed portions rivetted together, and has two cylindrical bores, one lined with brass, asbestos, or the like 2 for the guide rod, the other for the screwed shank of the holder 20 containing a rubber disc 21.
