Density separators; charging and feeding. - The. bowl 3 of a separator for liquids is supplied with the mixture through a pipe 9 with an adjustable valve 10, and a cup 6 above the bowl. The mixture passes from the cup through the bowl, and the separated liquids are discharged from the chambers 1, 2. A tube 7 which can be raised or lowered in the stuffing box 8 connects the cup 6 and vessel 4. When the liquid is supplied faster than it can be treated, the overflow passes through the tube 7 and is dis. charged from the vessel 4. The supply in the cup 6 is therefore kept at a predetermined level.
