Abstract

204,046. Aktiebolaget Separator. Sept. 12, 1922, [Convention date]. Density separators.-In centrifugal separators for liquids, to prevent re-mixing due to air currents containing suspended liquid particles, an opening I is provided in the casing B, through which air is forced by the centrifugal action of the bowl A, which may carry vanes M, and the air current thus drawn from the oil vessel D and pipe G flows by way of the central holes through the water vessel C, and is powerful enough to counteract secondary currents containing water particles. The water pipe F is made of smaller cross-section than the oil pipe G, or it is fitted with an adjustable valve K. The opening I may be controlled by a valve J, and may be arranged nearer the centre, as shown in Fig. 2, with vanes K<1> and a partition L<1>. Specification 202,616 is referred to.
