Ventilators; valves; ventilating conduits, passages, and pipes, arrangement and adaptations of. - Ventilating apparatus by means of which a current of air can be directed in any desired direction, comprises a deflecting plate a pivotally mounted by bolts b on a ring c rotatably mounted on an enlargement d at the end of a nozzle e, which may be secured by a flanged ring f to a trunk or pipe to which air under pressure is supplied. A spring washer on one of the bolts b serves re retain the plate a in any desired position; relatively to the mouth of the nozzle e, whilst the ring c is frictionally held in any position by means of an annular spring h, the compression of which can be adjusted by a nut l. The plate a is provided with side flanges k.
