Abstract

Ventilating vehicles.-Means for ventilating closed vehicles is shown applied to a railway carriage and comprises a longitudinal air flue A located near the roof and provided at each end with a bell mouth B fitted with a non-return valve as shown in Fig. 3. The flue A communicates with each compartment of the carriage through outlets C adjustable by means of the sliding shutter arrangement shown in Fig. 5. Two pipes may be fitted to each carriage and the outlets C arranged over the doorways.
