Abstract
418,501. Ventilating vehicles. RINGQUIST, J. M., Teesdale Iron Works, Thornaby-on-Tees. May 17, 1934, No. 14942. [Class 137.] A ventilator for use with automobiles, rail way carriages or other vehicles comprises a series of spaced louvres 5 which slope rearwardly with respect to the direction of movement and outwardly from the interior of the vehicle. The louvres are mounted in a frame 4 fitting the upper part of a window, the faces of the ends of the louvres being directly fastened in face to face relationship to the inner surface of the frame, and this effective opening is controlled by movement of the window 2. Passage of air past the louvre openings extracts air from the interior of the vehicle. In a modification, the louvres may be fitted in the roof and controlled by movement of a sliding roof.
