Abstract
430,621. Ventilating vehicles. BEEDHAM, R., 35, Great James Street, Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Aug. 28, 1934, No. 24723. [Class 137] Ventilating means for motor vehicles or railway carriages includes the use of an air diffusing member having a large number of openings spread over an area which is large compared with the space to be ventilated. Air admitted due to motion of the vehicle through an adjustable inlet 3 to a chamber 6 extending under the vehicle roof, passes into the interior through a gauze screen 5 extending substantially over and forming the floor of the chamber 6. This screen is supported on cross members 5<a>, and a part of it may be covered by an horizontal roller blind secured to the rear portion of the roof of the car. In Fig. 5 the gauze screen is shown applied to a motor saloon with a sliding roof. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 368,060.
