[Class 64 (i)] [See also Group XXXI] In apparatus for heating motor vehicles by means of air drawn over the exhaust pipe, a sheet-metal cylinder b with a flared opening c is disposed over the exhaust pipe a, and warm air passes through pipes e, f to radiators g, h. Openings g<1>, h', are provided for the admission of air to the vehicle body, and the flow of air is controlled by valves i, k. The parts a, b, Fig. 2, may comprise a single casting to which the exhaust pipe is connected at n. A rotary slide valve q is provided by which warm air may escape to the atmosphere when desired. The outer surface of the pipe a may be grooved or ribbed.
