Abstract

163,490. Fowler & Co. (Leeds), Ltd., J., and Robinson, P. Feb. 20, 1920. Rollers, road.--A device for converting a traction engine into a road roller comprises a curved member pivoted to the smoke box and adapted in its upper and lower positions for the attachment of a roller and road wheels respectively. The member b, pivoted to the smoke box at b<1> is provided with flanges d, f. In the upper position the flange d is bolted to a flange d<2> on the smoke box and the forward end receives the head e in which the roller c is mounted. When road wheels replace the roller the member b is turned down and the flange f bolted to a flange g, the forecarriage pin being received in a fitting b.
