Scarifiers.-A. road roller adapted for scarifying is provided with a tine-holder X disposed behind one of the rear wheels and carried by a bent arm J suspended from a bearing F on a ring- casting G attached to a flanged ring B on the rear end of the boiler. Toggle-links L, attached to lugs on the arm J and casting G, are connected by a pin P in the form of a nut, and a screw R engaging the nut is rotated by a handle S to raise and lower the tines.
