Abstract
319,500. Bentall, E. E., and Bingham, G. C. Oct. 1, 1928. Wheels, arrangement of.-The swivel wheels of ploughs, cultivators, swath-turners &c. are so mounted as to turn from side to side freely while the implement is travelling forward, and to be locked automatically in line with the implement frame when the implement is backed. The forked frame B carrying the wheel A is pivoted horizontally on an arm C which is pivoted vertically on adjustable standard D. A cranked stem F projects from the frame B into a triangular loop G arranged as shown on the implement frame E. When the implement moves forward the wheel A swings backward and the stem F enters the wide part of the loop G so that the arm C is free to turn about its vertical pivot to a limited extent. When the implement moves backward the stem F enters the narrow part of the loop G and movement about the vertical pivot is prevented.
