270,946. Pugh, Ltd., C. H., and Astley, L. V. Sept. 27, 1926. Wheel-scrapers. - Lawn-mowers are provided with scrapers or devices for removing dirt &c. from the ground-roller and causing it to fall on to tho revolving cutters so as to be thrown by them into the grass-box. The scraper consists of a rectangular plate 2 strengthened by a transverse bar 13 and having its rear edge resting on the roller 1. The plate 2 is angularly and vertically adjustable and is inclined downwardly, as shown, to deliver the dirt. &c. to the revolving cutters 3. It is flanged at the ends and removably connected to slotted arms 7 adjustably clamped on a cross-bar 8, or secured by bolts. Extensions 12 on the flanges 5 fit closely against the roller 1 and direct the dirt &c. on to the plate 2. In a modification the arms 7 are integral with the plate 2. According to the Provisional Specification the scraper may consist of two or mone plates, or of prongs &c.
