Abstract
171,601. Doel, G. J. Oct. 21, 1920. Convertible gas and oil lamps.-In a fitting for converting an oil lamp for use with acetylene gas, a detachable base-plate 1 carrying a nipple 3 with a burner 5 mounted thereon slides in guides on the lamp body and is provided with a lug 11 adapted to be pressed into position by the usual sliding door of the lamp. The nipple 3 &c. is mounted in a recess 2 in the plate 1, and may be formed from a pneumatic tyre valve &c. 'When the lamp is used as a rear lamp, the lug 11 covers the usual opening for the burner, and the plate 1 is secured in position by a spring catch.
