Abstract
178,623. Curnow, A. J., and Howes & Burley, Ltd. Feb. 11, 1921. Lantern doors and door fittings.-In an electric vehicle lamp a detachable front is retained in position by means of resilient fastening members permanently secured to the front which extend along the interior bf the body, and detachably engage a screw-operated clamping device arranged at the rear of the body, and a removable reflector is gripped in position by adjacent parts of the front and body. When the front ring e, carrying the glass f, and with the spring members g attached to it, is placed in position over the front open end of the body a, the springs g pass through apertures h and move along the inner surface of the body until they engage behind the clamping plate b carried on a screw c which passes through the rear of the body. Around the screw, and engaging with the plate and body, is a spring d which holds the head of the screw close up to the body, and prevents the rotation of the plate b when the screw is turned. The ring e or the glass f, abuts against the turned over front of the reflector i which fits over a lip j on the front of the body. On rotating-the screw c the spring members g are pulled to the rear, thus securing the ring e and the reflector i firmly in position.
