Abstract

216,040. Jensen, O. V. Oct. 9, 1923. Vehicle head lamps; lantern shutters.-An anti. dazzle device for vehicle head lamps comprises a fixed horizontal dividing wall 10 behind the front glass 4 of a lamp 1, and one or more plates 5 in front of the source of light 3 and adapted to be turned about a hinge 6, as by means of a Bowden wire connected to the driver's seat, so as to close to the light rays one of the two chambers formed by the wall 10, a small spring 8 tending to keep the plate 5 in the closed position. The plate 5 may be hinged to the parabolic reflector 2 as shown in Fig. 2, or to the wall 10 as shown in Fig. 4.
