Abstract
324,245. Tivey, T. B. Feb. 4, 1929. Vehicle lamps; lantern screens.-An antidazzle device for vehicle lamps comprises a frame a with a front part a<2> smaller than a back part a<1> and provided on the off side of its upper portion with one or more screens b of coloured or darkened glass or other transparent or translucent material to prevent dazzling the driver of an on-coming vehicle. The near side of the upper portion of the frame may also be provided with a screen of ground glass or other suitable material to prevent dazzling an on-coming pedestrian on the near side path or roadside. The lower portion c of the frame is open and the back part a<1> may be made integral with the front rim w of the lamp or it may be provided with key-hole slots adapted to engage with projections e on the front rim to hold the frame in position.
