Abstract

345,174. Vehicle lamps. HARPER, H., 221, Colony Street, Winnipeg, Canada. June 19, 1930, No. 18757. [Class 75 (iv).] Lantern screens.-An antidazzle device for vehicle lamps comprises a vertically extending supporting strip 7 shaped to fit and detachably secured, as by means of bolts 10, to the rear of the reflector 4, the strip being provided with a central opening 7<1> for the electric lamp holder 2 and carrying at its ends transversely extending and downwardly inclined wings 8, 9, the upper wing being arched and the lower one flat. Those surfaces of the strip 7 and the wings 8, 9 which face the bulb 3 are all made reflecting, and the rear edges of the wings may be cut to conform to the shape of the reflector 4. The strip may be in one piece, as shown in Fig. 5, or it may comprise a lower section 12, Fig. 2, provided with an opening for the lamp holder, and a narrower upper section 11 which is slotted to pass over the lamp holder.
