Abstract

Vehicle lamps; lantern screens.-A vehicle lamp is fitted internally with one or more transversely arranged wire-gauze screens having one or more openings through which light can pass in a forward direction without being screened. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a wire-gauze screen 1 has an opening 3 through which an electric lamp bulb can project, and is carried by a frame 2 which is resiliently held up against the surface of the lamp reflector, and at a distance from its mouth, by means of telescopic legs 6, as described in Specification 316,522. The transverse screens may be combined with one or more longitudinally arranged screens which may be flat and arranged vertically, cylindrical or otherwise curved, and may extend from the front glass to the reflector or to a distance from the reflector. Fig. 3 shows a perforated sheet-metal screen 8 and a wiregauze screen 9.
