Abstract

Mounting electric lamps in lanterns.-In a vehicle or like lamp in which means are provided on the exterior of the casing for adjusting the electric lamp bulb along the axis of the reflector, the lamp socket, reflector, adjusting-screw, and a spring disposed between the lamp socket and the reflector are so assembled that they can be removed from the casing as a single unit. The lamp socket 6 is slidably mounted in a tube 5 which is provided at the back of the reflector 4 and carries a flange 7 for holding a washer 8 in position. Secured to this washer is a plate spring 9 which also engages with pins 11 on the socket 6 and carrier a screw 12. The screw 12 has a part-conical head 13 engaging a recess 14 in the casing 1. The bulb is adjusted by turning the head 13, the spring being prevented from rotating by a channel-shaped guide 10 fixed to the casing. The lamp front 2 and the reflector 4 may be detachably secured to the casing 1 by the means described in Specification 223,835.
