Abstract

Mounting electric lamps in lanterns. - In a vehicle lamp the holder of an incandescent electric lamp bulb is carried by a pair of diametrally arranged hinged or flexible supports, or an equivalent single flexible support, and means are provided for acting on one or both of the outer ends of the supports for effecting axial adjustment of the bulb relatively to the reflector. In the form shown in the Figure, a holder a is pivotally connected to two strip-like supports g, h, the outer ends of which respectively are pivotally connected to the front rim i and an adjusting screw k. The screw k is operated by a nut l and accidental rotation is prevented by means of a spring m. Vibration of the bulb is prevented by means of a loose cap or plunger d fitted to the front end of the holder a and resiliently pressed by a spring f against the inner face of the front glass e.
