Abstract

Lever linkages. - In apparatus for regulating combustion in boiler furnaces in which the steam pressure in the boiler or steam pipe and the differential pressure at two points in the furnace act respectively on a diaphragm 72 and floating bells 18, 20 interconnected through a system of levers serving to control a servomotor for operating the furnace damper, the diaphragm, bells and lever system are maintained in a state of oscillation by a ' liquid brake " mounted on the lever 46 and comprising a cylinder 88 containing a piston immersed in a liquid and reciprocated by a crank disc 94 driven by a turbine 96. The lever 46 is supported on a roller 50 the position of which can be adjusted by means of a screw 48.
