240,167. Naamlooze Vennootschap Silica en Ovenbouw Maatschappij, (Assignees of Otto & Co., Ges., C.). Sept. 17, 1924, [Convention date]. Coke ovens.-In a horizontal coke oven of the type having regenerators beneath and parallel to the ovens, and vertical heating-flues so connected thereto that upcast and downcast flues alternate along the length of a heating wall, three regenerator chambers are arranged beneath each oven, the inner one 2 for gas being connected with both heating- walls and the outer ones 4 for air to the nearer only of the two walls associated with the oven. When rich gas is employed for firing all the regenerators may be used for preheating air, or one of a set may be used for the supply of diluent waste gases. The supply pipes for rich gas may be situated in access galleries beneath the regenerators or at the sides of the oven. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a construction with two regenerators beneath each oven connected to both heating-walls. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
