Abstract

235,063. Rothenbucher, G. E. R. Sept. 24, 1924. Rotating to ensure even wear. - An inlet valve is provided with a rotatable head 8 having straight radial vanes 15 which are acted on by the incoming fluid so as to produce rotation of the head for equalizing wear. The exhaust valve is provided with similar vanes on its upper face. The valve stem is formed with a flange 14 which is held in a recess in the head by a screwed bush 11, and the bush is locked in position by pressing inwards an annular flange. 10<a> formed around the recess. The flange 14 is slightly rounded on its top face and sloped off at its bottom edge, in order to allow the head to rock slightly so as to seat more correctly.
