[Class 122 (ii)] [See also Group XXIX In a valve-gear of the kind described in the parent Specification, and wherein the valve V has two seats one conical and free to yield due to pressure and temperature changes while the other seat is held stationary, the angle between the generatrice of the surface of the free conical seat and the average line of inclination of the upper bell is made approximately 90‹ whereby the deforming strains of the movable seat develop in the direction of the generatrice. The valve is provided with rigid straight arms between the hub and the bell, and the arc PQ between the arms is so small that the change in its camber does not appreciably affect the valve tightness. The valve is placed under a closing force sufficiently strong to ensure contact of both seats.
