Vehicles with removable bodies.-Relates to transfer boxes or freight-carrying receptacles intended to be removed from one railway vehicle to another or to road vehicles, ships or boats, for the conveyance of goods from source to destination without reloading. The boxes 1 are constructed without wheels &c. and are adapted to be moved on or off the vehicles by means of a hand trolly 5 which is run under the box. The trolly is provided with means for raising the box clear of the vehicle platform or the ground. The box may be provided with feet 2, Fig. 1, or it may be flat bottomed and rest upon fixed or removable supports on the vehicle platform or on the ground. The wheels of the trolly may be plain or flanged, and the vehicles and loading ramps may be fitted with rails for the trolly, or with U-shaped rails for trollies with plain wheels.
