Abstract
335,095. Carey, W. L. de M. Oct. 28, 1929. Vehicles with removable bodies; bodies.-In a vehicle for transporting goods a container is provided mounted on four or more small wheels and furnished with means to enable it to be secured against motion relative to the vehicle, shocks transverse to the container being taken by blocks on the container bearing against guides on the vehicle or vice versa. The container comprises a platform v mounted on four small wheels b and provided with uprights d, d<1>, e adapted to be filled in by panels g any one or more of which mav be removed at will or secured in place by fastening z. The uprights may be reinforced by further uprights d<2> and cross bracing d<3>. The rail wheels b are adapted to run on rails k on the vehicle platform l and are provided with axles n upon which road wheels w may be mounted or serve as guides projecting into guide rails m secured to the vehicle. To position the container in running on to the vehicle, pins p projecting below the container come into contact with wedge pieces t carried by weighted levers q pivoted on the vehicle.
