Abstract
295,933. Cristofoletti, U., Persi, E., and Labocetta, L. Aug. 20, 1927, (Convention date]. Platforms; vehicle fittings.-The goods-receiving portion of a railway truck is formed of a number of separate and interchangeable sections 7, Fig. 5, which, by extending their longer sides 13 downwardly are provided with feet or supports adapted to maintain the bottoms of the sections at a sufficient height above the platform of the truck to allow for the introduction of a wheeled transfer carriage by which the sections .may be lifted, transported and finally replaced on their feet at the desired point. The platform of the truck is provided with transverse metal strips 9, Fig. 4, for the wheels of the transfer carriage to run upon, and the edges of the platform are preferably bevelled to assist in movement of the sections on or off the truck. For loading and unloading purposes it is preferred to arrange the railway track between two platforms 10<1>, 10<11>, Fig. 6, having bevelled edges 19, the former platform being the higher and intended for loading; while the 'latter is intended for unloading, or a single platform stepped to provide two different levels may be employed. Specification 233,679 is referred to.
