Abstract

455,330. Handling load - containers. KELLETT, W. P., 16, Hilltop Road, Bronxville, New York, U.S.A. Dec. 30, 1935, No. 36000. [Class 78 (iv)] [See also Group XXXII] Load containers, provided with supporting rollers for facilitating transport, are mounted on rollers secured to the platform of a transport truck in such a manner that the container rollers are clear of the platform and its rollers. In the embodiment shown, the container 9, provided with rollers 11, is supported by metal skids 8 on two rows of rollers 3 arranged transversely on the truck platform 1. The skids are provided with up-turned ends 10 to facilitate mounting the containers on the rollers 3. Bolts 16, which are adjustably secured in blocks 12 mounted in pairs on the truck engage vertical and horizontal flanges on blocks 20 secured to the container, to prevent longitudinal and transverse movement of the container on the rollers 3. Tilting of the container by longitudinal shocks imparted to the truck is prevented by a flange 22 engaging under flanges 23 secured to the blocks 12.
