Abstract

265,325. Fitch, B. F. Nov. 26, 1925. Vehicles with removable bodies. - To facilitate the handling and transfer of freight loaded in portable containers without breaking bulk, the containers 15 are fitted with ball castors or other means whereby they may be wheeled on and off a tray 35 which forms the transferable load platform of a motor vehicle. The tray is provided with walls high enough to obstruct the doors 16 of the container in transit. The side walls of the tray are hinged to serve as ramps for wheeling the container on and off. The underside of the tray is provided with channel tracks 40, 41 at right angles, to run on antifriction balls in the floor of a platform or station. Specification 266,461 is referred to.
