Abstract

230,629. BroquÞre, F. March 15, 1924. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. -A nozzle I is arranged to inject fuel into a stream of air entering or leaving a chamber R, into which the whole of the air is compressed by the working piston. The fuel is injected gradually in such a manner that at any time during the injection period no more fuel is supplied than can be completely burnt by the amount of air passing at the same time into or from the chamber R. The chamber R may be provided with an auxiliary piston the motion of which controls the velocity of air flow past the fuel nozzle, I. Communicating chambers such as R. each having a fuel nozzle, may be provided. Gaseous, liquid, or pulverized solid fuel may be injected.
