Abstract

185,706. Gardner, E. March 15, 1922. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. -The passage c by which the cylinder communicates with the spherical combustion chamber a is situated at the side of the latter in order to give the entering air a whirling motion, and the fuel nozzle d injects the fuel in the same direction as the air stream flows. The passage c may be always open or it may be closed on one side as shown at the end of the instroke by a projection j on the piston.
