Mixing and churning apparatus.-In a turbomixer with an externally driven rotor wheel, the groups of nozzles for introducing the liquids to be emulsified can be connected in series or in parallel. The casing 1 is closed by a cover 2 to which is secured the nozzle carrier 3, the ducts for the liquid being contained in the space between the cover 2 and the carrier 3. Liquid admitted through the inlet 52 passes through the duct 51 to the nozzles 5 and that admitted through the inlet 43 passes through the ducts 42, 41 to the nozzles 4. The pipe 61 conveys liquid to the nozzles 6. The rotor 9 carries blades 7, or the blades may be carried by two or more rims. The blades are wider than the nozzles and are sharpened at the leading edge. The lower outlet 12 may be connected to the pipe 61 by the pipe 14 so that the nozzles 4, 5 are in series with the nozzles 6, or liquid may be supplied to the pipe 61 so that the nozzles 6 work in parallel with the nozzles 4, 5.
