Abstract

283,975. Janes, P. Jan. 21, 1928. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 23, 1928]. Mixing-apparatus; spreading liquids.-An intimate mixture of several media, in particular gaseous media with liquid or powdered media, is obtained by means of a wheel w which has two sets of vanes 5, 5<1> separated by a partition 6 and has central admission openings x, y. The apparatus is driven by a motor 1 which may be an electric motor. The opening x is used for liquid or powdered material and is connected by a suction tube 7 with the containing vessel 14. The gases enter the opening y and pass between the blades 5. The space 10 at the end of the blades forms a mixing chamber and the process of mixing is assisted by the action of annular corrugations 9, 9<1>. The mixed material is discharged in cloud-like form through the peripheral opening z. Any heavy particles in the mixture strike the bent rim 12 of the wheel and are deflected downwards to the container 14.
