Abstract

381,913. Centrifugal machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm. July 13, 1932, No. 19804. Convention date, July 14, 1931. [Class 23.] A centrifugal machine for the treatment of liquids has peripheral openings 7 for the discharge of heavy matters, the discharge being assisted by an auxiliary liquid supplied through the passages 5 to the chambers 4. Apertures 6 form a communication between the cham. bers 4 and the interior of the separating bowl. Some of the auxiliary fluid is byepassed through pipes 8 into the separating chamber and is directed to the apertures 6. Nozzles 9 are placed in the passages 5 to resist the flow of liquid to the chambers 4, so that the pressure in these chambers is lower than in the separating bowl, This causes a flow of liquid through the openings 6 from the bowl to the chambers 4.
