Abstract

387,298. Centrifugal machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm. Oct. 20, 1932, No. 29405. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1931. [Class 23.] A centrifugal separator 1 continuously discharges separated liquids and is provided with peripheral nozzles 12 for the discharge of separated solids. The amount of separated liquid flowing out with the solids is limited by means of an additional liquid which does not flow through the bowl. This liquid is supplied through channels 5 and passes inwards through nozzles 13 which are arranged opposite the nozzles 12. It passes with the solids discharged from the nozzles 12 through the outlet passages 15. The pressure of the additional liquid supply can be regulated to obtain any desired flow in or out of the nozzles 12 but it is preferred to permit a slight -outward flow. The sectional area of the nozzles 12 is greater than that of the nozzles 13 and the outer ends of the nozzles 12 are funnelshaped.
