1300953 Sedimentation tank S F W CRUNDALL A R CRUNDALL and M L CRUNDALL 9 June 1970 [18 June 1969] 30751/69 Heading BID A sedimentation tank 3 having an inlet weir 4 and an outlet weir 5 leading to outlet channel 6 has also a horizontal perforated tray or trough 7 forming an extension to the outlet weir, liquid being constrained to flow upwards through the holes in the tray before passing over the weir. Suitably, the perforations are covered on the outside by a layer 9 of liquid-permeable fibrous material, e.g. long fur nylon or similar long pile fabric. A perforate member 11 may be disposed below the trough 7, a compartment being formed by this member and baffle 12, in order to aid fllocculation of solids in the liquids.
