Abstract
357,599. Forcing gas into liquid. INDUSTRIKEMISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, 11, Blasieholmstorg, Stockholm. April 22, 1930, No. 12450. Convention date, April 22, 1929. [Class 14 (i).] Gases are forced through liquid supported on one or more perforated plates 2 in thin layers so as to generate large bubbles which form a bubble laver above the liquid, the plates being such that the bubbles when released from the plate do not unite or touch one another. Preferably the distance between the holes in the plate is at least five times their diameter with holes of 2 mm. or less and at least twice their diameter with larger apertures. The axes of the apertures may diverge upwardly and their inlet and outlet may vary in diameter or the hole edges may be bevelled. Flattened bubbles may be produced by providing the holes with spiral-shaped elements 3. By inclining the holes the discharge of gas may promote a flow of liquid along the plates which aids in releasing the bubbles.
