Abstract

567,959. Centrifugal separators. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. Sept. 23, 1943, No. 15618. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1942. [Class 23] In a separator of the type shown having lighter liquid discharged through an outlet 5 and sludge through nozzles 10, a quantity of flushing liquid is fed up a conduit 2, along channels 9, some passing through the outer nozzles 3 with the sludge, and some passing inwards through nozzles 10 to mix with the sludge. Each hole 12 in a nozzle 10 is circular or slit-shaped. The nozzles 10 may be arranged with two holes 12 in series, and these may have a screen between. Fig. 4 shows an inner nozzle with two holes 21 in series and a cone-shaped baffle 19, having holes 20, in between.
