[Cass 110 (i)] [Also in Groups XIII and II] Apparatus for heating or cooling milk &c. comprises superposed members a' ... a<4> through which heating or cooling fluid flows from an inlet a to a smaller outlet a<6>, and between the members impellers k having beaded peripheries and blades m and mounted on a rotary shaft i. The milk &c. is fed into a vessel h and forced through the spaces between the members a<1> ... a<4> to an outlet q. In order to increase the exit velocity of the milk, blades may also be provided on the undersides of the impellers. The milk may be forced upwardly through the apparatus. Air can escape through passages in the hubs of the impellers.
