Abstract
276,998. Lawrie, A. Sept. 3, 1926, [Convention date]. Shallow-overhung-blade fans; impeller blades. -Fan blades E are formed twice as deep at the entrance end of the fan as at the back end, and while their outlet angle remains constant, giving a forward throw of say 45 degrees, their inlet angle varies along the length of the glade, decreasing from a forward throw of 45 decrees at the entrance end of the fan to zero at the back end. The blade has the same radius of curvature throughout its length, the narrow end of the blade forming one eighth of a circle and the wide end one quarter of a circle. The wide end may be rounded and secured by a lub F to a ring D supported by spokes 0 radiating from a boss A, which carries a plate G to which the back end of the blade is secured by lugs H. The area of the blades may be four times the area of entrance.
