Abstract
343,407. Steam turbine-blades. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON, Oerlikon, Switzerland. May 29,1930, No. 16614. Convention date, June 5, 1929. [Class 110 (iii).] Hollow guide blades 4 have slots 13, which may extend for the full length of each blade, situated on the inlet edge into which are projected water particles contained in wet steam. The water is led away through channels in the fixed guide ring. The hollow blades 4 are spaced between solid blades in the guide ring and may be constructed of sheet metal. Only some, or portions of some, of the guide rings are provided with hollow blades. In the vector diagrams the absolute velocities of the steam and water entering the guide blades are shown respectively by the lines 9, 12.
