Abstract

1,092,348. Water separator for steam plant. C. A. PARSONS & CO. Ltd. Oct. 27, 1966 [Nov. 10, 1965], No. 47775/65. Heading BIT. [Also in Division Fl] The inlet duct to a steam turbine (1) incorporates at least one row of hollow curved blades 4 which have water collecting openings 5 at or near their trailing edges (Fig. 1a, not shown), the openings being connected to a steam condenser to effect suction. Figs. 1, 2 illustrate parallel blades located at a bend in the duct, but alternatively blades may extend radially forming a centrifugal type separator. The separator may be located in the inlet duct of the highest pressure turbine or between two turbines in series.
